What’s the best time of year to get started in lawn care?

Well, the answer, of course, is anytime! Specialists who can offer the kind of top-quality lawn care services that Lawnkeeper franchisees can provide are always in demand. A great looking lawn might be something which is most enjoyed when the weather is good, but keeping your lawn in great condition is a year-round job. Which is why Lawnkeeper franchisees enjoy regular and repeat business regardless of the season.

However, experience has shown that there is definitely one particular time of year which is excellent for picking up new customers, and that is late summer/early autumn. After enjoying their lawn all summer – or realising their lawn could look so much better – homeowners are most likely to start using lawn care services at this time.

Which means, as a potential new lawn care business owner, late summer/early autumn could be the absolute best time for you to get started. The work is there all year round, but it can be the best time to pick up those regular lawn care customers who will become the heart of your client base for many years to come.

Launching in time for peak season means getting the ball rolling NOW

Summer might seem like a long way off still, but starting your own business doesn’t happen overnight, and being a part of the Lawnkeeper franchise is no exception. While we have made every effort to streamline our processes as much as possible, it still takes time.

Here is some more info about the steps involved and how long they might take:

STEP 1 – Learning if this is the right opportunity for you – 4 weeks

Let’s say you decide today to schedule a call with me to learn more about the Lawnkeeper franchise. I can answer all your questions, and send you as much info as you need very quickly. However, this is a big decision, so you’ll want to do your own research and maybe speak to me, or to the Lawnkeeper team, at least once more.

STEP 2 – Arranging contracts and finances – 4-6 weeks

Once you’ve decided that this is the opportunity for you, you will need to start doing all the paperwork and securing funding. We can help a great deal with this, of course, and raising the money might be a lot easier than you think. However, it is a process which can’t – and shouldn’t – be rushed, and you’ll need to leave enough time to get it right.

STEP 3 – Preparing your business for launch – 4-6 weeks

Things will start happening very quickly now, but there is still a lot to do. You’ll need to start looking at sourcing the right kind of van, if you don’t have one already, and getting it equipped and stocked. You’ll also need to set a date to start your training, and everything else that comes with making the transition to a new career – especially if this is the first time you’ve been self-employed.

So, assuming everything runs smoothly, you’re still looking at a minimum of 3-4 months to go from first contact through to launching your business. So, if you want to launch your new lawn care business in time for August, say, tracking back 4 months means you really need to get the ball rolling in the next few weeks!

The first step is a simple one – arranging a call with me, which you can by using the button below. So, why not take that first step in finding out more?

I look forward to hearing from you!
