The Opportunity

The UK Lawn Care Market

The green, green grass of home…

The UK lawncare market is huge, and we’re only just scratching the service of what is possible in terms of tapping into it. Gardens have always been close to our hearts here in the UK, and a beautiful, healthy-looking lawn is often considered just as important as a great looking kitchen or living room.

There are around 18-20 million lawns in the UK, and even if we are really conservative with numbers, around half to two-thirds of these could benefit from our services on a regular basis.

We don’t have our competitors exact numbers of course, but estimate as few as 1 million of these homeowners currently employ any kind of lawn care specialist. This means that around 90% of the UK lawn care market is still completely untapped.

There is so much potential demand for our service, in fact, that we have been able to divide the country into a whopping 173 different territories, all with up to 100,000 potential customers. You would only need to service around 1% of those annually to make a good return on your investment.

Our outside spaces are more valuable than ever

Studies show that a beautiful garden is so much more than just something pretty to look at – it also has a big impact on our physical and mental health too. As people spent more time at home during the pandemic, they paid closer attention to how their environment affected how they feel, and access to green spaces became more important than ever before.

Specialist lawn care has long since stopped being a luxury – it has become essential in maintaining a happy and healthy home.

Not only does this mean that homeowners are willing to spend more on caring for their gardens for their own sense of wellbeing, but they also realise just how much financial value well-kept outdoor areas add to their home.

Suffice to say, the UK public have never valued their lawns more than they do right now!

The potential is huge! For the right individuals, with the right business model behind them, a very profitable slice of the UK’s growing lawn care market is ripe for the taking.
